Before 1 Oak, we did try a competitor, but unfortunately we only managed a week as it was abundantly clear that 1 Oak Community Meals were far superior in every way. The meals from 1 Oak are delivered at lunchtime - not mid afternoon. They are always delivered by a recognisable member of the 1 Oak staff who are always very friendly & seem genuinely pleased to see him. My brother lives alone and has very little self confidence so it is very reassuring to have this as an extra feature of the meal delivery service. It is wonderful to see the meals arrive as a meal on a plate and not slopped into a foil packet which he has to serve up himself. He always talks very positively about the meals & what he has enjoyed. The process of ordering his meals is easy enough for him to manage himself and I have found the staff, particularly Angel and Scott to go above & beyond what I have expected & experienced of a service such as this. By having a healthy, nutritious meal at lunchtime I can rest assured that someone is calling in on him every day and the meals look enjoyable and are freshly prepared and cooked. The vegetables look amazing and he saved me a salad to try the other day and it was delicious. I would highly recommend 1 Oak Community Meals to anyone who find themselves in the same situation as me, unable to cook for my brother every day. I am happy that 1 Oak Community Meals share my values and wishes that I have myself for my brother. It feels like a small weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I am very grateful."
